Perth's LGBTQIA+ Netball Club
Shooting Stars LGBTQIA+ Netball Club Inc (ABN 75 604 985 182), known as Perth Shooting Stars, was created to provide the LGBTQIA+ community in Perth with a safe, fun, and welcoming space to play netball. We’re not just representing ourselves, our teams, or our Club - we’re proudly representing our entire community!
We know that many people we meet during games and club events may not have had much exposure to the rainbow community (at least, not that they know of!). That’s why we’re committed to being the friendliest, fairest, most genuine, and inclusive teams around. We’ll always cheer on our teammates (as loudly as possible!), give props to our competitors, thank our umpires, show love to our supporters, and stand tall with pride.
Perth Shooting Stars play each Tuesday night at Loftus Recreation Centre in Leederville with games scheduled between 6:15pm and 10:00pm and everyone's welcome to join the fun! So whether you’re a permanent player, a sub, a family member, a friend or a supporter of our community, come down and help us make some noise!
Acknowledgement of Country
In the spirit of reconciliation, the Shooting Stars LGBTQIA+ Netball Club acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we meet, train, and play, and pay respects to Elders past and present. We recognise their enduring culture and their continuing connection to the land, water, and community that we all share.
Acknowledgement of our LGBTQIA+ Elders
We pay our respects to those amongst the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and intersex communities who have worked to support the improved health and wellbeing of their peers, children, families, friends, and country. We honour the elders in the diverse communities of which we are a part and we celebrate the extraordinary diversity of people's bodies, genders, sexualities, and relationships that they represent.
